We are accepting applications into the Farmer’s Market again this year. The first day of the market will be June 6; hours will be 8 a.m. to noon every Saturday until the end of September! The merchants will join us with their Vintage Market that first weekend and will hopefully join us more often this year. The Guthrie Farmer’s Market is a true Farmer’s Market with 100% of the market being grown in locally!
Shekinah Springs Farm is having a Gardening Seminar, Saturday, April 4 from 9 to noon. If you are interested in learning more about the ins and outs of growing a garden this is a great place to learn. They will do some planting and basic lessons about soil, plants and weather. They will have donkey rides, a bake stand, goat’s milk soap and a giveaway! To reserve a space email shekinahsprings@gmail.com.
The Territorial Riders are fundraising again for the Special Olympics. This Saturday, April 4 they will have a poker run. Cost is $20 per single and $25 per couple with door prizes & 50/50 pot awarded at the end of the ride. Food will be available at the last stop! Do you like Licorice? I hope so because the Licorice Festival is set for April 8-12. Cherie Gordon hosts this festival in her shop, Aunt Gertrude’s House located at 112 E. Oklahoma. They will also be hosting this Wednesday’s Chamber Coffee. Senator Langford will be stopping in to say hello and give us a brief update on what he has been working on at the Capitol.
Wednesday, April 1 is the last Lenten Luncheon. The host church will be the First Christian Church with pastor Bill Williams speaking on the Resurrection of Christ; historicity and necessity. Lucy and I here at the Guthrie Chamber office wish you a happy and blessed Easter Sunday!
