County sees larger than usual voter turnout for primary election

With several local and state races, along with a state question, the Logan County Election Office received much larger than usual voter turnout for the June 2020 primary election.

On the various ballots, there were two school district board seats, two county elections, two state representative races, two state races and a state question. Related article: Video: Local election results

In total, there were 27,864 registered voters in Logan County, in which 8,856 cast their vote or 31.78 percent.

Here is the breakdown for each party in Logan County:

The Republicans, once again, prove to be the majority party in the county with 16,847 registered voters. In this election cycle, 6,245 cast their vote or 37.06 percent of the party.

Of the 6,759 registered Democrat voters, 2,070 filled out a ballot or 30.62 percent of the party.

Independent voters, who could vote on the Democrat ballot if they choose to do so, saw 523 voters or 12.75 percent of the party.

Of the of 159 registered Libertarians, 18 went to the polls or 11.32 percent of the party. There were no Libertarians who filed for run for office.

Guthrie and Luther school districts each had one seat up for election, which are non-partisan.
