Downtown Downbeat returns July 11 with live music, food, fireworks and family fun

One of Guthrie’s most popular summer traditions is returning under a new name and leadership.

The Guthrie Chamber of Commerce will host Downtown Downbeat on Saturday, July 11, continuing the longtime community event formerly known as Red Brick Nights. The chamber now operates the event, which remains focused on bringing the community together for an evening of live music, entertainment, food, and family fun in downtown Guthrie.

The free event will transform the intersection of Wentz Street and Oklahoma Avenue into an outdoor celebration filled with live music, food, drinks, shopping, and family activities.

The evening will kick off at 6:30 p.m. with live performances from Jokers to the Right and Joleen Brown, providing the soundtrack for a summer night in the heart of downtown Guthrie.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to browse local craft and retail vendors, explore downtown shops, and enjoy a variety of food trucks catering to every appetite.

For those looking to cool off, beverages will be available for purchase.

Families are encouraged to bring children and enjoy the free Kids Area featuring activities designed to keep young attendees entertained throughout the evening.

The event will conclude with a fireworks display presented by Fireworkz a Poppin, lighting up the downtown sky to cap off the celebration.

Admission is free, and organizers encourage guests to bring lawn chairs and enjoy an evening of music, entertainment, and community fellowship in historic downtown Guthrie.
