GPD welcomes two new officers from CLEET certification

With the recent graduation of Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training (CLEET), the Guthrie Police Department (GPD) will welcome two new officers and a first for the department since 2001.

Chief Don Sweger and others of the GPD attended the CLEET ceremony and graduation of Officer Hailey Fisher and Officer Shannon Peel.

The two female officers will be the first females to be on the force since 2001.

The class gave a plaque to CLEET that commemorated the horrible deaths of an instructor’s son, Tecumseh Police Officer Justin Terney and Logan County Sheriff’s Deputy David Wade.

“This was a very touching action for which we are eternally grateful,” Sweger said.
