Guthrie sets temperature records in July

For the second straight day Guthrie has topped a temperature record in July.

On Saturday (July 9), Guthrie collected the hottest temperature of the year with a mark of 112 degrees. The previous record on that day was back in 1964 when it landed on 111 degrees according to weather.com.

On Sunday afternoon, the Guthrie area hit 107 to over take the 1954 temperature record of 105.

Sunday also marks the 12th straight day of temperatures over 100 degrees and the 24th time this year.

The 10 day forecast is calling for triple digits with lows reaching the lower 80’s and upper 70’s.

Agweather.com reported 1.04 inches of rain in the month of June with July not seeing any participation. In 2010, June and July combined for 7.85 inches of rain.

Both Logan County and the City of Guthrie are currently under burn bans and Logan County Rural Water District 1 has a no lawn watering policy to all of its customers until further notice.
