Historical Deputy Marshals to put on a show Saturday

Right after the last fire engine signals the end of the ‘89er Parade on Saturday, six men will do re-enactments of the Historical Deputy Marshals.

The marshals, who helped establish law and order in the Oklahoma Indian Territory, will tell their very interesting and historically accurate story of life on the prairie through the eyes of the lawmen and the judge who organized it all.

They will relay their stories on a raised stage at the intersection of 1st Street and Harrison Avenue.

Come meet Marshals Heck Thomas, Bill Tilghman, Chris Madsen, Brass Reeves, Frank Eaton and Judge Parker and listen to them tell their story. It is an interesting story  and gives a great insight into that time in our early history.

Follow that last fire engine in the parade and it will lead you right to this captivating story —- a story for all ages —- a story about law and order in early Oklahoma.
