Logan County OSU Extension is excited to announce the addition of two new educators to their team.
Lizzie Chapa has been serving as the new Ag/4-H Extension Educator for the past six months.
A native of Ellsworth, Minnesota, Lizzie currently resides in Crescent. She holds a Bachelor of Animal Science degree from South Dakota State University and has a strong background in showing horses and barrel racing. Lizzie also celebrated a personal milestone in September, welcoming her daughter, Skye, into the world. She is thrilled to be part of the Logan County community and is eager to contribute her knowledge and experience to local agricultural and 4-H programs.
Karlie Thomason started as the new 4-H Extension Educator in Logan County on January 13.
A former member of the Mulhall-Orlando 4-H club, Karlie is excited to return to the county she grew up in and work with the next generation of 4-H members. She is a graduate of Oklahoma State University, holding a degree in Family and Consumer Sciences. Growing up on a farm, Karlie is passionate about supporting the agricultural community while using her background in Family and Consumer Sciences to enrich the lives of Logan County’s youth.
During a recent Logan County Board of County Commissioners meeting, Karlie introduced herself and shared her enthusiasm for her new role.
Currently, there are 210 students enrolled in the Logan County Extension programs, with expectations for those numbers to grow by the summer as upcoming events and activities ramp up.
