An early Sunday morning accident has a man in police custody after striking a business display and fleeing the scene.

A reporting party called the Guthrie Police Department and said a gray, two-door BMW had struck the outdoor display of Ace Hardware, located on 512 South Division, just after 8:00 a.m.

The driver, Keith Carroll of Guthrie, appeared to have hit the landscaping timbers and cinder blocks in front of the main entrance of the building.

There was no damage to the building.

The reporting party told officials that Carroll, 44, then drove to the back of the Guthrie Fire Station and parked before heading back onto Division.

Officers were able to locate the BMW and pulled the vehicle over in the 500 block of West Noble.

Carroll was taken into custody and has been charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and leaving the scene of an accident.
