The Guthrie Fire Department was toned out at 7:21 a.m. for a mobile home fire located on Family Circle, just east of the intersection of Pine St. and Prairie Grove Rd.

The fully-involved structure was quickly under control, but firefighters were forced to go to a defensive mode on the vacant home with several cedar trees, tall grass and nearby homes in the area.

It is unknown how the fire broke out.

Fire officials, who were on the scene for approximately four hours, were told the home had been vacant for about seven years. Neighbors believed the home did not have power, but it was later learned power was indeed hooked up.

There were no injuries reported.
