OnCue Express to build store on Waterloo Road

Logan County appears it will be seeing another large convenience store being constructed along Interstate 35. It’s uncertain when the store will open, or when construction will begin, but dirt work could be as early as this month.

In a Board of County Commissioner’s Meeting held on Dec. 31, it was announced OnCue Express would be constructing a store east of I-35 and on the north side of Waterloo Road.

OnCue’s Director of Operations, Tommy Shreffler, tells Guthrie News Page the company has acquired about the property on Waterloo Road.

“Yes, we have at I-35 and Waterloo Rd. I don’t have any details at this point about the site,” Shreffler said in an email to Guthrie News Page.

Guthrie News Page was informed construction could begin as early as this month, but Shreffler says it’s uncertain at this time when dirt work will start.

“I don’t have a date for when construction will start or open date at this point.”

Based in Stillwater, OnCue Express has stores throughout Oklahoma, including Wellston, Perkins, Oklahoma City and Edmond. On their website, OnCue shows two locations coming soon in Moore and Oklahoma City.

“We are aggressively building in the OKC metro area and will be looking in other areas as well,” Shreffler.

With more than 650 employee’s, OnCue offers several fuel options and numerous selections of fountain drinks, coffee, cappuccino, FreezeeCue and flavor shots to customize them all.

Love’s Travel Stop, along with Carl’s Jr. and a mechanical shop, opened their doors last month inside the Guthrie city limits on the north side of Highway 33 near I-35. On the south side and across Highway 33, Guthrie Travel Center, along with Golden Chick, opened in 2014.

  1. Traffic signals and lane enhancements coming with the construction? Or can we expect a compounding of the existing traffic situation?

  2. If it is over where the catfish restaurant used to be, I am betting it will simply just be more of a cluster-you-know-what than it is now. That isn’t, technically, Guthrie or Edmond. So, it would be a county road. Construction doesn’t happen that quick out there.

Also, did they acquire the land or inquire about the land? Because those are two different meanings and the phrase “the company has acquired about the property on Waterloo Road” doesn’t make any distinction.

  3. There needs to be a total reworking of traffic flow for this to be successful
