Silver Alert canceled; Guthrie man in stable condition

Update Sept. 9 at 7:37 p.m. — At approximately 6:30 p.m. Ronald Leeroy Haggy was located in Guthrie, OK. He is being evaluated at an area hospital and is in stable condition. The Silver Alert has been canceled.

The Guthrie Police Department has issued a Silver Alert for Ronald Leeroy Haggy who went missing from a living center on Tuesday evening. He is listed as an endangered, autistic male with medical conditions.

The police department was contacted by the Westview Living Center about the disappearance of Haggy at around 9:30 p.m. and stated he had walked away and could not be located two hours prior of contacting the police.

The living center says Haggy, 69, is a white male, who is six feet tall and approximately 240 pounds with long curly black/grey peppered hair, a mustache and wears glasses. He was last seen wearing a lime green tank top and shorts.

Haggy requires hearing aids and will not be able to hear without them. Staff members say Haggy is a high functioning autistic whose condition is unnoticeable with small conversation and will not be detected until unless an in-depth conversation is had. He requires daily medications, that without may put him at serious medical risk.

It is believed Haggy may have hitch-hiked away from the Guthrie area and any person(s) who may have given a ride to or have seen someone matching his description are urged to call the Guthrie Police Department at (405) 282-3535.
