And so it begins.

Guthrie High School junior left tackle Blake Belcher has received his first Division I offer to play college football.

The 6-foot-6, 270-pound offensive tackle received the offer from Oregon State on Thursday.

Belcher emerged on the recruiting scene prior to his sophomore year for the BlueJays with a strong performance at the Tulsa Schuman combine and has since emerged as one of the state’s best lineman. Belcher has received mail from Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Kansas, Colorado, Tulsa, and Oregon State.

Belcher attended the Oklahoma Sooners Junior Day in December, and many outlets are projecting him as the state’s top offensive lineman in 2011.

Oregon State was 5-7 in the 2010 season. On the 2011 spring roster, the Beavers show two Oklahoma products in Dax Dilbeck (Deer Creek) and Michael Doctor (Booker T. Washington).

The BlueJays have produced recent Division I football players such as David Washington, Kyle Smith, Kye Staley, Donte’ Foster, and Kentrell Brothers.
