The Guthrie boys golf team took on Surrey Hills golf course and their conference opponents on Monday and came away with a third place finish.

Jack Klein talks with head coach Ric Meshew about his round at Cedar Valley earlier this year.

As a team, the Jays finished with a score of 328 with Piedmont taking the conference title by shooting a 319 and Deer Creek finishing second with a 320 score.

Individually, Jack Klein led the way for the BlueJays as he tied for fifth overall and made all-conference with a 78 score.

Bryce Sullivan, who will play football next season at Southwestern in Weatherford, shot a personal best 79 and was good enough to finish tied for 10th. Sullivan joined Klein on the all-conference team and was aided by shooting even par on the last 9 holes.

Also competing for Guthrie was Brent Jenkins, who shot an 84, Ethan Delno scored an 87, Brayden Berryman shot an 89, Caleb Davis shot a 95, and Austin Mccaul shot a 88.

Guthrie will now move on to Lincoln west, on Thursday, and then host the Bluejay Bash next Thursday.
