County Commissioner’s wife arrested for DUI, child endangerment

The wife of a Logan County Commissioner is accused of driving under the influence with her grandchild in the back seat of a vehicle.

The Guthrie Police Department responded to the Dollar General store on S. Division St. at around 3 p.m. on Oct. 11.

Witnesses said they saw Cheryl Jean Goodman, 62, stumbling out of the store as she made her way back to her vehicle. According to police, Goodman was on her way to pick up another grandchild from school.

The 4-year-old child in the vehicle was turned over to a family member.

Goodman was arrested and charged with child endangerment and driving a vehicle under the influence. Both are felony charges. Child endangerment is punishable by a fine and up to four years in prison. Felony DUI is punishable by a fine and one to five years in prison.

She was given a $7,500 by a Logan County judge and a court date of Nov. 17 at 9 a.m. The bond was posted by her husband Marven Goodman.
