Deer in roadway sends two teenagers to the hospital

An early morning accident, involving a deer, sent two teenagers to a Oklahoma City hospital.

Emergency responders were dispatched to Douglas Blvd. and Forrest Hills Road at 2 a.m. with a report of a vehicle on its top.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a 2016 Fiat – with two Guthrie teenagers inside – was westbound on Forrest Hills Road when it struck a deer in the roadway.

The impact forced the vehicle to depart the road, striking a plastic fence, continuing into a light pole and finally rolling onto it’s top.

The driver, 19-year-old Ethan McKee, was transported to Baptist Hospital by Guthrie EMS. He was treated and released with no injuries.

The passenger, 19-year-old David Stewart, was admitted to the hospital in good condition with neck and trunk internal injuries.

The collision report shows both teens were wearing their seat belts and the cause of the collision as “deer in roadway.”
