Former Guthrie man aided Oklahoma fugitive

A former Guthrie man is accused of helping fugitive Michael Vance with medical care and weapons. He was arrested last Friday.

According to multiple reports, Danny Lee Roach, 34, admitted Vance came to his Oklahoma City residence where he gave him bandages for his gunshot wounds. The wounds came earlier in the day on Oct. 23 following a shootout with two Wellston police officers.

Roach, a convicted felon, is also accused of supplying Vance with an assault rifle.

Reports say Roach also served as a lookout for Vance.

During two separate visits with Roach at two separate residences, investigators found several rifles and handguns, including the rifle believed to be involved in the killings in Luther. Vance had pending murder charges in the deaths of two relatives.

Vance was killed on Sunday night in western Oklahoma by a trooper with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Court records show Roach has multiple convictions in Logan County. In 2005, he was convicted of felony drug charges and later a misdemeanor drug charge.  In 2003, he pled guilty to four charges, including accessory after the fact, possession of controlled substance and driving with license canceled or suspended.

Roach is being held in the Oklahoma County jail, without bail, on complaints of being an accessory to first-degree murder and gun charges.

  1. You know, I hate to be the one to say it, but it certainly seems awful coincidental. If there’s a bad guy on the lose and the cops are chasing him with dogs, you can bet your bottom dollar he’s tied to Logan County in some way. What is it in the water up here?
