Guthrie Lions Club Adopts A Street

Members of the Guthrie Noon Lions Club complete the initial trash pick up associated with Guthrie's "Adopt - A - Street" program

Recently, the Guthrie Noon Lions Club completed its inaugural clean up of a city street.

Lion President, Steve Gentling noted, “The Lions Club is excited to be involved with Guthrie’s “Adopt – A – Street “program. I believe the Lions Club may be the first and only civic organization that is involved with this program at the present time. We have selected the General Daniels Corridor (the road leading from Division to the Guthrie/Edmond Regional Airport) and have committed to remove trash from this segment of city street four times a year. This reflects our dedication to support our community and to serve the citizens of Guthrie.  We are proud and pleased to serve!”

The “Adopt – A – Street” program requires a two year commitment to quarterly pick up litter and trash on a one mile segment of road within the Guthrie city limits.

The Guthrie Noon Lions Club meets every Friday at noon at Stacy’s Place, 113 W. Harrison.  Each week, in addition to a wonderful meal and meaningful fellowship, a special guest presentation is made, generally focusing on a program, process or activity that directly affects our community and our lives.  Membership is open to all who want to make a difference, to all who want “to serve”.
