Meridian Technology Center, Guthrie Chamber to help small businesses grow online

STILLWATER, Okla. – Meridian Technology Center is partnering with the Stillwater, Guthrie and Perry chambers of commerce to help small businesses grow their online presence. One issue that is common with online businesses is a dependency on computers and this can have terrible repercussions. Understanding computer performance issues and the use of a cpu bottleneck will be very important for your business.

On October 5, Meridian will host Get Found on Google with Search and Maps, a workshop provided through Google’s Get Your Business Online platform that brings community members, business owners, and civic leaders together to help small businesses succeed on the web. The program empowers communities to support their local businesses and to encourage them to get on the map. If other businesses are looking to educate themselves on similar marketing techniques using Google My Business, reading into online educational resources as well as using powerful and helpful tools could ease the process of getting your business on the map. Such tools could be found by reading the likes of this local viking review or similar tools built specifically for GMB.

“Local businesses keep our communities strong,” said Kim Strom, Computer Training Services Coordinator at Meridian Technology Center. “Meridian, along with the Stillwater, Guthrie and Perry chambers of commerce, play a key role in economic development. This workshop is the perfect opportunity for us to work together to help businesses and communities grow.”

As part of the workshop, small business owners will be introduced to revolutionary techniques designed to boost sales. For instance, in recent years, studies have shown that integrated software has been soaring in popularity. Navigating which type of software is worth the investment can be difficult though.

Nonetheless, it cannot be denied that using customer experience software has allowed some businesses to increase revenue in a relatively short period of time. Consequently, help desk software, similar to services provided by Zendesk and Freshdesk, has totally changed the way that companies take care of their customers. You can check out this useful guide to zendesk vs freshdesk to find out more.

Drew Tonsmeire, one of Google’s certified trainers, will lead the workshop. Attendees will be introduced to Google My Business, a free tool to manage a business’s information across Google. Those of you looking to make use of this particular service may also want to learn the ways in which you can optimize your GMB photos online. During the hands-on training session, Tonsmeire will demonstrate how to add or update your information on Google Search and Maps, optimize and promote your website, and much more. He will wrap up the session with valuable tips on tracking and measuring progress to ensure your time, effort and resources online are maximized.

The Google My Business workshop takes place on October 5 from 11 am to 1 pm in at Meridian Technology Center. Registration is $15 and includes lunch, training and networking. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own device to maximize their training experience. To register visit meridiantech.edu/google.
