A Logan County judge remanded a man to sheriff deputies inside the courtroom on Tuesday. However, before he was taken into custody he took off running out of the Logan County Courthouse.
Brandon Lamont Miller, 34, of Guthrie was attending drug court as part of a plea agreement in reference to his original charge of possession of a controlled dangerous substance without a prescription.
As Judge Luke Duel announced the decision to place Miller in custody for failing drug tests, Miller turned and ran out of the courtroom.
A detention deputy pursued Miller on foot as they ran north on Broad St. for several blocks.
During the foot chase the deputy deployed her taser in an attempt to stop Miller, but the taser was ineffective.
Miller, who has a long criminal record in multiple counties, was seen going into a second floor apartment located on the southwest corner of Ash and Warner.
Nearby deputies and Guthrie Police officers entered the apartment and found Miller hiding in a bedroom. He was taken into custody without any further incident and transported to the county jail.
In addition to finding Miller, Aaron Damal Vick, 24, of Guthrie was arrested for an outstanding warrant inside the apartment.
