Waste Connections to suspend bulk, brush services for Guthrie residents

Waste Connections will be making changes to their trash pick up schedule for Guthrie customers due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Beginning on April 6, will temporary suspend residential bulk and brush services, along with limiting residential trash services to collection of only contents within carts.

“Given recent events around closures of businesses and schools, and the increased number of cases of Covid-19 infections, we feel it’s necessary to preempt an impact on the health of our personnel,” the company said.

Bags and bundles that are placed outside of carts will be excluded from collection during this time, in order to minimize the risk of exposure through manual collection or “pickup by hand.”

The change to go “cart only” on residential routes will be in effect for the ensuing weeks, through April.

With the temporary suspension of curbside bulky waste, Waste Connections encourage residents within the city limits of Guthrie that have a current utility bill will be allowed to utilize these roll-off boxes one time per house hold during the month of April, free of charge.

The landfill is located at 1506 N Academy Rd.
