Arkansas next for Brothers?

With just a few more weeks left before the start of high school football practice, Kentrell Brothers continues to make appearances on college campuses.

Brothers was the first in Guthrie history to collect over a 1,000 yards receiving in a single season.

The senior-to-be is fresh off a trip to the University of Arkansas for a camp and is believed to of have had a good showing. The Razorbacks are looking at the “sack artist” as a possible safety. Although an official offer from the Hogs has not come down the pike yet, one may be arriving soon. If so, it would be the second SEC school to do so.

Brothers has been mentioned as a possible fullback, linebacker, and receiver from Division I schools. Many believe he will be an outside linebacker when he starts playing on Saturday’s.

Currently there are 14 offers on the table from Division I schools: (in order) Missouri, Duke, Syracuse, Kansas State, Baylor, Iowa State, Tulsa, Washington, Connecticut, Kansas, Arizona, Vanderbilt, Ohio, and Arizona State. Brothers is expected to narrow the list down to five in the coming weeks.

The prior week to the Arkansas trip was the National Under Classmen Ultimate 100 in Duncanville, Texas. CEO and director David Schuman continues to rant about the ability of Brothers.

“Kentrell Brothers was overpowering at times during the individual position. The 6’0.5 213 lb linebacker had awesome technique, played physically and did an outstanding job of getting to the ball. Brothers also ran a 4.59 shuttle and clearly knows how to take over a game,” Schuman said on his blog.

This weekend, Brothers, along with his younger sibling and incoming sophomore for the Jays, Richard Brothers, will be attending the Top 100 prospect camp at Oklahoma University. Kentrell was one of 15 to visit the Sooners Junior Day back in January, where he had a good conversation and visit with head coach Bob Stoops.

Kentrell is expected to travel to Iowa State, Thursday, for a visit.

“They like me for both positions (receiver and linebacker). I think that they will probably end up recruiting me as an athlete,” Brothers said. “If I get a chance to play and they teach me what I’m supposed to do and how I’m supposed to do it, I have no problem playing anywhere, but I feel real comfortable playing outside linebacker. I think I am going to get a chance to play early [at Iowa State], I just have to do my part and work hard if I was to go there.”
