Betchen, Klein and 5A golfers at State

Guthrie golfers Brice Betchen and Jack Klein hit the 2010 Golf State Tournament at the beautiful Emerald Falls in Broken Arrow. So did Mother Nature.

The Class 5A golfers were scheduled to play 36 holes on the opening day on what was scheduled to be a 54-hole tournament. Play was held up during the second 18 and the tournament will be shortened to 36 holes. The second round of 18 holes will begin today.

Betchen and Klein scored 85 and 86, respectively. Leading the way currently is Chickasha’s Taylor Williams with his 74. Carl Albert’s Talor Gooch and Coweta’s J.C. Bowlin both shot 75 and are tied for second. Ardmore’s David McMurry and Grove’s Tyler Bush are tied for third with 76 on the score cards.

Ardmore leads after day one with a team score o 311 and is followed by Lawton Mac’s 328, and Carl Albert’s 337.
