The Guthrie High School boys soccer team is celebrating a historic season and some major individual achievements as four senior players take the next step in their athletic and academic careers.
Head Coach Michael Horn praised his seniors for their hard work, dedication, and leadership in pushing the program to new heights.
“These young men have put in the blood, sweat, and tears to elevate everything we do,” Horn said. “They’ve made history for Guthrie soccer, and I couldn’t be prouder.”
Jesus Acosta was selected to the Class 5A All-State Soccer Team as a forward. Marco Meza has signed to play goalkeeper for Randall University. Adrian Gonzalez will also continue his career at Randall University. Giovanni Rojo-Campos has signed to play at Southern Nazarene University.
This group of seniors helped guide the Bluejays to their first-ever playoff win and a championship at the Southern Coast Cup in Alabama, setting a new standard for the Guthrie soccer program.
“All of our seniors have worked so hard to get to this point,” Horn added. “They’ve left a lasting legacy and shown what’s possible for Guthrie soccer.”
